You need to bounce to 16 bit/44.1K stereo interleaved to make an audio CD. If you session is done at 24 bit, you also need to insert a dither plugin on a master fader(in the last slot) and dither to 16 bit.

With newer version of Nero and some other programs, one does not need to bounce to 16 bit anymore. 44.1K stereo interleaved, yes- I make audio CDs out of the 24 bit bounces. Am I missing something here? Do I need to dither down (and to 16 bits) for quality of sound?

All CDs that play on normal CD players are 44.1kHz/16bit, no matter what. If the newest version of Nero accepts 24bit files for CD creation, then it is automatically dithering (and probably not in the best way possible).

Yes, I knew that all CDs that are normal are 16 bit, but I didn't know that a writing program would dither the 24 bit input. It seems obvious now . Will go back to 16 bits for burning.. I only tried the 24 bit versions for a few quick listen things, which is a good thing....
