Probably!

We havent wup’d since 2013 and still 9.6 and using the bundles and singles waves plugins on HS/Mojave and no issues at all. Would never pay 200-300 bucks for a few bad 20yo additional plugins and would put that money into a few Black Rooster plugins I would actually use or small developers with great stuff who needs our money.

Yea, for sure WavesHell isn't going to be seeing any of my money any longer, until they support AAX-DSP

I can't see the point of the WUP either!

All devs can’t afford to keep issuing free updates for ever, so they charge for it. They all do it. Every time there is a new plugin upgrade you’re paying for the next year or so of updates. True you get new features with it, but you’re paying extra for it.

It seems that to keep things backwards compatible Waves issue the new features as new plugins that you can pick up on sale for around $30. So if you add that with the upgrade fee you’d pay for a si liar plugin that’s around $45-60 on average. Most devs charge twice that when they release a new upgrade. Not to mention the WUP is capped at $240.

This is potentially much cheaper than what other devs are asking. But no-one’s done the math and they are just assuming that it’s worse off.
