Default copy track name into comments

HI everybody

I ve been exploring the internet to find a solution ... but only found little bit here and there but not a definite easy solution

I am looking to be able to copy track name into comment
full session or selected track. all will do

I use Ultimate 2019.5. Mac osx Mojave.

Does anyone would have an apple script for this of any easy way to do it

If you're looking for a global command to copy all track names into comments, I don't believe there is such a thing. If so, I've never seen it.

However, you can just highlight track name, copy, and paste into comment for that track. Rinse and repeat for the other tracks. Shouldn't take more than 3-5 min to do the session.

I've actually found it easier to go to the Mix window, open the track name list on the left side, and then just re-type the track names into the comments 1 by 1. Even on a session with some 60+ tracks it only took me about 4 min to do it.

Used to use QuicKeys for this. But QuicKeys isn't being kept up anymore.
Batch Commander probably can do the same thing.

Let me ask this stupid question: why do you want to copy your track name to comments field?

no stupid question at all !

1 : I ve been doing that during many many years
2 : very often artist "name" the different track with Long name that actually get "cropped" in track name and sometime I end up not reading exactly what it is even by "of course" using colours etc etc (example being 5 snare track playing together per example"
3:comments give you more "space" to be able to add some more info and seeing the track name

4: please see my screen shot.... it speak for itself . 2 track . same name appearing... but not the same...

Yeah, I could see that being tedious on the bigger sessions like that.

But, as I said, I really don't know any automated way to do it. It would be a nice feature though to have a "copy all track names to comments" button that could apply to any selected track groups.

with the applescript it took about 10sec to do 80 tracks.

just need to change the delay to 0.2 to speed it up.(change in code)

great great gain.

but yes implemented insidePT .... would be better.
