Default 11 days to go lets speculate

from a post on another forum

The 003HD-LE is coming. It will have 192 SR, 24 audio io, external sync, 48 channel software and list price for $3995.00. It's positioned mid way between HD-1 and 002R in price.

Could be, i reckon the new digi003 SHOULD have some element of DSP to counter the duendes and focusrite dsp offerings.personally id prefer a full native version of protools software with m-audio or digi series for same price as nuendo.

What do you digi users think

Depending on the amount of DSP included, I'd probably upgrade my 002R. I'm sure they'd have a hardware trade-up promotion.

It would have to have true TDM-like monitoring capabilities though and be able to run TDM plugins - or preferably RTAS plugins on the DSP chip.

60-80 tracks would be better for that kind of money. The low-end Cubase that comes free with audio interfaces can do 48 tracks. So can Logic Express.

I would say the likelihood of that coming out is 5%. I'd LOVE to be wrong.

That does sound very cool to have DSP processing but I sure as hell hope you're wrong on that price. The current 002r now is somewhere in the range of over $1,000 and that hurts.

I'm running a G4 now and thinking of upgrading to a G5 just to be able to mix a project without bouncing drums. If you're right this means instead of investing the money I can keep my current system and just buy the new 003.

i want to be able to share the work load between two computers if you got em
like use your tower and your lap top and share the workload like you now can in logic
it would make life so easy ...for everybody that still has their old tower laying around collecting dust
or your lap top or if you had your old ppc and new intel and you could let them talk or use old plug ins
macs have amazing abilities to network why not take advantage of it
almost makes me want to move to logic ( well sort of )
ahhh pipe dreams i know
but damn it
i want i want i want

The DSP inside the box is an intriguing idea and I also like the idea of using another computer to run plugs / share the load.

I'll bet the 003 isn't much more that a 002R Pro. It will have clock in/out, more light pipe inputs for more 96k tracking, and the ever popular "Improved Pre's" (Converters, take your pick).

Who knows maybe they will suprise us with something that really kicks bootay.

John

That's a SURE sign that something's coming real soon.

What price are they advertising?

wow...Im glad I waited to upgrade from the mbox! since so many small studios are popping up that Ive seen using 002's instead of HD bc of price, this sounds like a GREAT alternative. we can only pray!

EDIT: wheres the other post?

I also heard the GC adds and thought the same thing when I heard it.. I bougt my 002r for the same price that these things were going for a week or so ago, and I'[ve had mine for a couple years. Seeing that Gc is selling them at a "clearence" sale, does make one think that they have something new coming in.... Also, I doubt we'll see any DSP, I would love it, but i don't think so... My bet is on 8 mic pres, dual smux, W/c, 2 headphone outputs, preferebly the second one mirrored from analog 3-4 we could run dualing mixes without a seperate headphone box... DSP would be SWEET though... But if it comes with dsp, all thats gonna make me do is spend more $$ on new plug-ins... ....
