Exclamation PT8 Original Installer Disk

Ok This seems to have been a documented problem. I have spent wayy too much time on the DUC tonight researching it.

I have just upgraded to WIN7/64....from XP clean install.

The original disk will not finish loading and does nothing for a reallllly long time.

I have not posted Sandra b/c the Drive works (i installed win with that DVD drive). and I used that disk to install on XP w.o issues.

So my digi account doesn't show PT8 either......Wierd huh? I registered it when I loaded it up on XP......????

Searched way too many sites to try to find the issue and I can't.

How do I get the PT LE 8.0.0 Complete Installer ???

Since you registered PT contact Avid, ask them to deposit the latest 'Full Installer' version into your account (I think it might be v8.03). Install with hardware interface turned off.

Use that to install PT then run 8.05 updater.

Win7 requires PT8.04 or higher to run.

Alliteratively, if you can somehow get PT8.0 installed using current disk, just run the updater (do not uninstall PT first as updater's need full installation before they can run).

With your current disk, have you tried right clicking PT exe file>Run as administrator? Also turn off any Anti Virus software.

This is interesting because all my PT versions show up in my account except PT8.
It shows from PT 5.1 to 7.4x and everything in between, but no PT8.
It's also interesting that no registered hardware show as well, Digi or Avid.
