Default Trying to use outboard gear to treat using reverb?!? Aarrgghh!

This is driving me nuts!

I have a vocal on an audio track in a session on my M-box Pro running Pro Tools 9 which I want to treat using the Lexicon reverbs on my mixer.

I have tried to send the track through output 1 of the m-box into channel 1 line input on my mixer. Treating the track through the Lexicon reverb and then mono out from the desk to line input 1 on the m-box.

Signal clear though desk main outs, yet no appearance of signal on Pro Tools at all. Is there some funny routing scenario I am missing or am I on the wrong path completely?

My wife will thank you forever - as she won't have to put up with my tantrums!

Jamie

So have u record enabled the track ? The track that's going to have the recorded lex verb ? The wet vocal track - input one / record enable

If u don't hear it toggle auto input monitoring

Hi,

Yes I did try it and it was no good. I think I will just give up and try in-the-box approaches.

Thanks for your assistance.

Is the reverb in your mixer treated as a send or an insert? If as a send are you picking up the return signal to your Mbox? And are you using mono tracks in PT?

I think the issue is the choice of outputs. IIRC, you should use outputs 3&4(of the Mbox Pro) to feed the Lexicon. Then bring the Lex back in on inputs 3&4(the line inputs) and feed those inputs to a stereo AUX track(or audio track, and record the reverb into the session).

Having said that, I would buy the LXP Lexicon reverb package and stay in the box(or one of the many good reverb plugins available; I like the IK Classik Reverbs and Breverb2 a lot)
