I haven't seen or done any PTLE tests with the MacPro, but SOS (current issue) did a test with Logic Pro.

A few examples of how many instances of Space Designer they were able to run:

Mac Mini 1.42Ghz G4 - 4
iMac 1.8Ghz (G5) - 17
iMac 1.83Ghz Core Duo - 30
PowerMac 2.7Ghz DP G5 - 34
Mac Pro 3Ghz Dual Xeon - 52

Space Designer is like Altiverb, but not as nice-sounding. It's more CPU efficient though. A rough estimate might be 1/2 the number of Space Designers for the approximate # of Altiverbs.

You can see the Core Duo iMac is almost as fast as the DP G5.

I used to just get 32 mono audio tracks out of my old G4/400 and PTLE 6.9, so 32 should be a walk in the park for one of the new machines.

Hope that helps.
