Here's a video with audio examples comparing the Abbey Road Plates to Altiverb 7 and D-Verb.

You guys... Sheesh... EU people first pay 8% customs and then 24% VAT on top of that. INCLUDING shipping costs if its a physical product. So a 100 dollar thing for you is a 134 dollar thing for me

Anyone running a P Tools HD 10 TDM system and able to install this plugin without wiping out all of your TDM plugs by having to install all my of the Waves stuff with the online installer, which installs only Native plugins. Just wondering as I was hoping that it might be possible to install just a single plugin since this plugin is not part of the regular Waves group of plugins. It's probably not possible but hope springs eternal.

I had the unexpected pleasure of running the latest installer and having all my TDM plugs still work. I was prepared to run the off line installer to get them back but no need. Lucky.

I selected all my plugs plus the new ones and let it run.

None of these codes are working for me when I use AudioDeluxe. I know that "refer a friend" thing gives the buyer a discount, and the referring person a kickback so I'm all for it. Anyone else got one?

Edit: I should check myself. Too many impulse buys, and I have so many nice reverbs already (but only one dedicated Plate reverb, CSR Plate) ... Still curious why the codes aren't valid at AudioDeluxe tho

They expire. I had it in my cart and the code worked fine. Sat on it for a few hours to decide if I really wanted/needed it, when I went back, the code had expired. Was for the best since that helped me decide I didn't want/need it.

Ok, so is this plugin really a CPU hog? Just wanna confirm this before taking the plunge and paying to see if it can actually be installed without losing all of my TDM plugs.

Reaper has a CPU gauge in the insert window. Here's what I found with a single stereo instance using my laptop with an i7 4700HQ @2.4GHz (4 physical cores, 8 threads)
  • Abbey Road Plate: 2.4%
  • UltraReverb: 0.6%
  • P&M Digital Plate: 0.2%
  • CSR Plate: 0.2%
  • Phoenixverb: 0.3%
  • NI RC24: 0.3%
  • NI RC48: 0.5%
  • Reverberate 2: 0.4%
  • TSAR-1: 0.6%

So comparatively it's a resource hog. But I'm not concerned, how many instances would you use? Also I found that in mono the Abbey Plate uses 1.1%. None of the other reverbs offered mono in Reaper, they load stereo by default. There's a fudge factor here in that the 64-bit VST may be more or less efficient than the 64-bit AAX, so take these numbers with a grain of salt. Also consider that your numbers will be more attractive with a more powerful processor - this is just the mid-tier laptop I use for my mobile recording.

PS: Dunno if this is listed in the manual, but click the speaker icon in the large graphic to toggle between waveform views; none, vibration, waveform. I would appreciate it if the meters would migrate to the lower display when collapsed, because everything else in the top area is just useless graphics to me.

44.1kHz nMp Hex core PT 12 Vanilla
As read on PT CPU meter average
One instance of AR Plate on an Aux with Click going through it
Nothing else

Buffer = 256 to 1024 all about the same
average ~10% peak = 25%

Buffer = 128
average ~15% peak = 30%

In PT I am seeing around 15-20% with a single instance at 64 buffer w 4930k @ 4.2ghz across all cores.

In Reaper I am seeing around 1 to 2% at the same buffer settings etc.

In PT I would put it on an aux...
