i just wanted to chime in that i too don't like the new look at all. The old interface was all business. New interface is too "cool". And obviously hard to work with due to the poor contrast to dark etc.

Hi Kenny

Maybe you get post 1000! Just try again

................

I had yesterday an engineer in my room who did not know PT 8

After I have showed him some gui8 "features" he really was baffled.
It was funny for me to look at him as he made squinty eyes and was moving his head towards the displays to get a better view of all.

again

another cat comes in and says

what it takes me reems to say in a such a short sentence.

excellent description.!!!!!!

i too can't do and won't try any longer to do business

with PT8PE (pink elephant)

it only took a couple of tries in front of clients to see
that i instantly become frustrated and angry at PT8PE in my "control" room....
the place where i'm normally
at my highest level of competancy and comfort.

i cannot mask my facial expressions of grief and perplexity
because i'm brutally honest
and clients don't want to embrace any major learning curves
on their dime.

digi....many many of us are waiting for the arm wrestle to stop.

is it all that important for you guys to win this one?

oh...and my buddies..."the coalition of the enlightened"?

i love you guys
but just bumping the thread with a smiley
or a statement about the current post count?

a bump is nice
but the thread should tell digi and your peers how you really feel
every time you hit the send button.

...i'm as serious as lupus and a heartattack about this!

are you afraid you are gonna miss out
on an endorsement or a free plugin or something?

it's bad enough not hearing from a known beta tester

but you guys basking in the safety of a mere post bump.....

meow meow meow

"you say you want a revolution"

This drives me nuts.

Take a look at this picture:

http://web.me.com/produceher/filechute/bypass.jpg

On the Comp Vox track, I'm viewing Autotune plugin bypass.

Can you easily see what section is bypassed?

I used to be able to. Not anymore. It's those region lines. They're too thick. It's too close to the thickness of the automation data.

In this mode, the easiest thing to see should be whether it's on or bypassed and it may be the hardest thing to see.

Nope. If the breakpoints weren't there it would be even more of a nightmare. It's these sorts of things that really slow down production in PT 8. Once again I will chant a "functional" UI over a "pretty" UI. Functionality really needs to come first no matter how ugly it might look in the end. The Edit Window is pretty much unusable.

I recently went back to 7.4 myself as of last weekend. 8 had way too many issues happening in front of clients.

Hello. I was wondering:

Have Digidesign made a definitive response to their clients misgivings on the new PT8 interface?

Yes digi posted several times here.
They agreed that something will be done.
They will optimize the new gui.
That must be 10 or 20 pages back.

But this were only words.

They did not say exactly what they will fix and when
If they will not fix all the issues I wrote in my first post I am really pissed off.

Most issues discussed here will benefit to ALL Protools user

This is now five month later when this thread started.
And nothing happend. NOTHING

I can fully understand that some people keep on speaking loud.

Digi whats up

Ale
