Default Offline bounce offset

I installed 11.0.2 because of all the bug fixes and did my first show with it today. Everything is ducky except...

Anybody seen this?

My Session Start was 09:00:00:00 and I bounced a performance touch-up that happened in real time at 17:22:25;24. When the Avid editor opened the WAV file on his timeline the Original Time Stamp for the bounced file had been magically changed to 08:22:25;24.

Seems like Offline Bounce is subtracting the difference between Session Start and 00:00:00;00 and using that as the Original Time Stamp for the file.

Just checked, normal bounce does the same thing. I did this twice with 11.0.1 and the Original Time Stamp on the bounced file was correct.

Let me know if I'm doing something stupid, but I'm thinking the workaround for now is to leave Session Start as 00:00:00;00. Might be inconvenient, but I bet the Original Time Stamp will now be correct. Let you know tomorrow.

Peter

Okay, it's official. If I set the Session Start time back to 00:00:00;00, the Original Time Stamp on any bounced file is now accurate. Can't believe this isn't causing more head-scratching here in Pro Tools land. Doesn't anyone (other than humble self) use a Session Start time other than 00:00:00;00?

Hope they can fix this in a maintenance release.

Peter

A) why are you using the drop frame instead of non drop frame timecode?
B) why are you starting at midnight all zeros instead of starting at 01:00:00:00?
C) what frame rate are you working at?

A) why are you using the drop frame instead of non drop frame timecode?

Color television. (Sorry, couldn't resist.) All live-to-tape production that I know of uses drop frame to keep clock time roughly matched up with video time.

B) why are you starting at midnight all zeros instead of starting at 01:00:00:00?

That's kind of the point. Unless my Session Start is set for 00:00:00;00 the time stamp that prints on a bounce is incorrect, offset by exactly the difference between whatever the Session Start may be and 00:00:00;00. In other words when I have a session start time of 09:00:00;00 the time stamp on any bounced file is offset -9 hours. Which didn't happen in 11.0.1, I think.

C) what frame rate are you working at?

59.94. Normal broadcast 1080i HiDef.

Pretty sure this is a bug.

Yep, I have the same issue here with ProTools 11.0.3.

If my sessions have a different session start time than 0:00:00:00 the offline bounces have an offset as described my Peter.
Pretty annoying I hope Avid solves that very fast in the next update.
