It's one of those download the whole bundle, install only what you have license for installer packages. Basically, the download has like seven other plugins that AVID is not paying for. BTW just for grins i tried this thing on an acoustic guitar track and it worked quite well as far as leveling but sounded a bit harder/crunchy afterword. Not like, horrible, but not as clean as vocal rider or bass rider YMMV

Hi,
My Protools Ultimate account is up to date and paid up through 12-19 yet I can't seem to get the plugin offer that came the other day.
Am I doing something wrong?

I recently, in the last month or so, changed the email address associated with my account, and noticed today that when I tried to sign in, it would not take.
I ended up having to change my password to what I thought it was before and all is fine...
I also noticed when I got into my account, my Ultimate subscription record shows up through 2017 but not after.

Does this matter?

as another poster mention you get the whole bundle and a code that opens xyz and incase you want more you just get a code.

Me thinks this is more about signing you up for more advertising to be chucked your way. I DL'd but haven't yet installed.

I like Vocal rider haven't used the live version in a live situation. but I had a young lass doing a country number who had a really soft but beautiful voice almost at times spoken, Vocal Rider worked really well and then I had an older 60yr+ old bloke who's power dropped off on long notes in a very hard rock style song Vocal rider worked really well there too. I don't really do monologues per say so I might pass on installing for now.

I haven't tried this one yet but in my opinion automatic level riders work best followed by compression, the rider helps the compressor work less and the compressor shapes the wave. I'm looking forward to try it because I've had very good experiences with Bass Rider and I'm looking forward to have one that works well with acoustic guitar and other midrange type of tracks.

I was one of the last to get Falcon in my account, but among the first to get this one, so... I usually get things late into my account.

I just tried it briefly on a female singing vocal and it is very heavy handed. It brought the breaths up a lot (bad) and the sound got quite aggressive. (could be good)

My usual sentiment is: "if it is free, it is probably not good enough to charge anything for it" holds true.

Having spent many hours hunched over an analog board riding faders,
(or the old Allen Sides trick of riding the output knob on a DBX 160 while printing vocals),
was eager to see if anything in the digital realm would be a labor-saver.

Was very disappointed with Waves and Quiet Arts,
and later on with the Hornet version (although a great price).

For those of you looking for a good tool to even out levels before sending off to a processor,
here are the three that after a lot of testing (including with the ERA)
I found to be the most musical;
GainRider 2 from TBP Audio, a small shop in Germany.

The leveling section prior to the genius compression algo in Sound Radix Powair;
and a different beast, but brilliant at allowing tracks to sit just so in a mix
is Syrah by Flux

As mentioned above relating to acoustic guitars,
(the TBP for ex., has good pre filtering capabilities)
these tools when set up properly can also smooth out basslines
percussion, synths,(even 808’s from a poorly played MPC), strings n horns,
as well as drummers who don't know how to play hi hats properly.

Tough to beat free, but what matters is the sound…

That thing is useless to me
Its sounds like a heavy compressor.
It gives you very loud breaths...... pumping.... ruins the sound......

If you need something that works zillion times better then get waves mv2 which currently on sale for 29 bucks or move your faders.

After the ACA vote and the latest offers from AVID i am thinking this plugin may be targeted more to broadcast/podcast market. Which is not to say i won't use it as it does push the mids pretty hard, which i could see being useful on occasion.
