Thanks to the AVID team for your hard work.
I've just started messing with this, and the problem I'm getting is because of my current settings, scrolling through the playlists, creates a new playlist every time because i am essentially overlapping a previous clip, which creates a new playlist. So I thought I was scrolling through audio clips, but then I had 20 more playlists!! More time for me needed on it i think.

Preference settings.
Overlapped clips create a new playlist.

I know that's the setting... I'm just saying, it seems dense to allow both. If i'm using the keyboard shortcut then maybe it shouldn't do it. But fiiiiinee I'll go click a single check box.

Pro Tools is done for. All these features and I still have to think a little bit

Just downloaded and installed it. Opened and played a couple of sessions I’ve been working on and all seemed to be fine. Tried the EQ curve display and it seemed cool, but no game changer. That said, I’ve been darn happy with 12.8.3.

Track presets are great. One use I’ve found is that, if you have a mix template.. with all your plugs, routing etc... you can select all of those tracks in your template and save it as a track preset. I put mine in a folder called “mix” and called the preset “Mix Template” now I can just create a new track and call up my mix template with one fell swoop. Saves doing the import session data thing. Love it.

Problem is if this gets out of hand we could end up with 12.9!
You mean this whole merry-go-round for absolutely nothing? No. we can't have that!

And all this because a lot of folks are superstitious...there could be a huge drop in sales because of the number 13! I think 2018 is a very elegant solution indeed. Big kudos to the Avid marketing team!
