Default Need MIDI CC#

I own a Command 8 with PT8 HD.

I am trying to control aux send 1 with a rotary knob on a Korg nanoKONTROLER2. It is normally connected to the left pan pot. I would like the knob to control the Aux 1 parameter for a reverb send.

The C|8 is able to control aux send levels via MIDI, so I assume there is a CC # but I cannot find the CC number to control.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Ray,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm not quite sure the Command 8 uses standard MIDI CCs to control ProTools.

Controlling PT via MIDI CCs (logic like) is a bit of a mission. To my knowledge, the PT mixer was never build as a MIDI mixer.

Example:
Panning in Logic (CC#10): from L (-64) via C (0) to R (+63), that's 128 steps, the typical MIDI 7bit resolution (two's complement used for + / - range). Same resolution for faders levels (CC#7).
In PT, you Pan from L (-100) to C (0) to R (+100), that's 201 steps. Fader resolution is 0.1dB steps, from -144dB to +12dB. Hard to set with the mouse, but do-able via numeric entry in the floating window. A resolution of 1560 steps. Both values don't really compute in the MIDI universe...

Have tried to control Plug In parameters from an external USB MIDI keyboard but never managed to make it work.

Try this: Download a MIDI monitor software. I used this one a long time ago: http://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/
Open it up, control aux send level via the Command8. Maybe the MIDI monitor shows you the CC used.

All the best with that.
