also, I don't think it's sata, eSATA, or the lot, I'm wondering if it's the controller that's screwing things up with PT. Firewire controllers do it, so why couldn't a HDD controller have issues with PT inner workings.

Its just really random; I only had it happen to me 1 day which was monday; it happened for about 30mins... I shut down, & since then I hadn't had it come back; this happen back with 7.4 as well...

of course.
well then back to the grind. This is why they need to compile all the info together

Maybe off topic a little, but I have to help a friend update his studio tomorrow and he is running xp do you think 8.0.3 will be fine or should I stick 8.0.1 on there. He is a bit of a hot head during sessions. Is this bug in 8.0.1 as much.

For me nothing changed but an update to 8.0.3 and then I had static on every channel immediately. no drive update, nothing. I have 2 Western Digital 500 gig Caviar drives. I installed windows 7 x64 on a seperate partition and 8.0.3 and it seems to work fine. I dunno what the deal is but id like to boot back into XP and finish a session I had going without having to reinstall all my plugins.
