Default Best Budget Mic

I'm currently looking for a BUDGET mic....something that I can use to record SFX when necessary, and the occasional voice track...probably not very often though....I have access to a number of high end mics, but need to buy something for when I'm in a pinch....Anyone have any experience with the M-Audio mics? ...Or R0de? The cheaper the better!!!! Even the $100 M-Audio Nova!!!!! Anyone know about this mic????
Thanks in advance.

Well, funkpolbrother...
Sorry for asking the obvious > What is your budget ??
If I had to pick only ONE mic, I'd probably look up a used Sennheiser 421.

happy tooling,

Audio Technica has their 2020 for $100.
If you are looking for:
something on the cheap
won't bother you if it gets trashed
don't need a large diaphram
try the MXL 990. MusiciansFriend has them for $59. Their large diaphram 909 is $69.
