Default Unable to create Dae

What is the cause of this error? I've gotten it a few times already, had to restart my Mac in order to start up PT. Anyone now the reason and/or solution?

I have found the most common cause of this is some other application is using the hardware. Do you have the Digi-CoreAudio installed?

it's obvious if youhave iTunes open, but some surprising applications also grab the digi-hardware.

I have had to quit PanoCalander, Gramotki, and other apps that I thought had nothing to do with audio.

Try creating a new user and see if the problem persists. If so, you probably have some background utiltiy that is causing the problem.

Good Luck,
MC

Yes, I have the Core Audio Driver an does happen when I use ITunes and sometimes with Peak. Sounds like a new bug.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">It's not a bug. Digi says that the Core Audio Driver can only be used by one application at a time. So to use Pro Tools you must quit any application that might be using the driver.

And yes, it would be great if the drive could be used by multiple apps at the same time.
