7.4.2 not launching

Hey there my friend has 7.4.2 running on leopard 10.5.6 and every time he tries to open his protools with his hardware connected it crashes and we have check all the updates for the mac and such is there any updates for 7.4.2 or anybody that had this problem with some solutions ??
