record arm machine tracks

got machine control remotely operating a DVW 500
can see and hear everything fine and can control it.

i want record the audio feed from the machine into pro tools but when i record enable the required tracks and hit record i get a message telling me that no machine tracks are record enabled?

record inhibit is not on the DVW.

sometimes the track arm buttons in PT don't correspond to the ones on your deck. Try all of them.

worked out that i can start recording with transport = protools

then change to transport = machine to roll the digi player

it works but its not ideal
