Default Audiosuite Preview???

Pro Tools 7 has a problem with stopping playback while previewing in Audiosuite. Each time a setting is changed within a plugin, the preview stops ie. no real-time adjustments. Renders Audiosuite a little useless don't you think?

Please are there any fixes known?

As far as I can remember, it's always been like that. Not a bug, that's just the way it works. (or maybe my memory is failing and I've done too many software upgrades )

Usually, most audiosuite plugins also have an RTAS counterpart. What most people do is tweak the settings in real time with the RTAS plugin inserted on the track, save the settings, and then pull the settings up on the audiosuite version and process.

It's never bothered me to do it that way, and there are very few audiosuite plugins without a matching RTAS.

If it's something that really sticks in your craw (which it obviously does for you and bigbadhenchman), you could submit a feature request on the Feature Request Form.

It ceratinly isn't the way it's supposed to work. And also completely unnecessary.

Since Digidesign created Audiosuite, it's safe to say it's exactly the way they intended it to work.

Try Shawn's workaround suggestion.

Well, it's completely unacceptable.

That would be like selling a Television that only allows you to change the channel by turning it off, select a channel, turn it on. Don't like the Channel, turn it off, go to the next one.

This is the most asinine thing I've run into so far with PT's MPowered.
If they're going to have an Audiosuite menu, then they shoulf have it function properly. And to say that this is the way it is is ridiculous.

Actually, I think I may be completely wrong. I was away from my rig when I answered the question, and completely speaking out my *bleep*

What plugins are you guys trying to use? What version of PT? I'll check on my rig, and see if I can replicate.
I don't think it's supposed to do that.

I just heard from a friend who is using MP on a Mac and it works fine.
I'm goign to see if it's plug-in dependant.

It may be. Which plug? I'll test it too.

My apologies. Never mind. Seems to eb the wave stuff.
However the response of the coontrols of the plug-ins that do work is painfully slow.
