Default -9171 and -9172 errors Pro Tools 11 | HD

I've seen the sticky, but that relates to PT 10 HD. I run both 10 and 11 HD and get these errors in both. I'm running Barracuda (7200 rpm drives) and have feeling they are a tad slow... or is it the Mac Pro SATA bus? Has anyone got this beat? I'm thinking of trying an SSD and if that works, changing to a Raptor (15k rpm's)... Any help or insight is helpful.

Fidelis, you've never had the 917x errors running sessions with PT11x and HDx card? What kind of sessions do you normally work on? Do you use native plugins? Are they mostly mixing or tracking sessions? Just curious as I've thought these errors are fairly common.

Thanks for at least replying Fidelis. A couple of questions if I may. Do you use any VI's that require samples? And if so, do you keep them on the system drive or a separate drive for samples only. I think I will try that...I just bought a couple of SSD's.

I installed two SSDs in my 2012 Mac Pro a couple days ago (32 gigs RAM) and IT SMOKES! PCI 480 gig HD for clean install Mountain Lion OS and 480 Gig in a hard drive bay. No more warnings about anything being too slow or needing to raise the buffer size etc. I'm running a fair ton of VI's. Plus, the video looks terrific.

I got my SSDs at Other World Computing.

I think your troubles might be over.

No VIs here. Just audio tracks. Most at 88.2 or 96khz. From 20 to 100 tracks... Never had this errors. Just mixing here.
Must say that I mix on a console, so not to many plugins. But I do use some!
Wondering if SSD really speeds the system up!
