Avid/MC Control v1 viewing angle
I recently bought a mk1 MC Control, I already new about the screen issues but it was a good price and i'm really happy with it.
What I wanted to share is that I decided to try to improve the viewing angle of the screen. I happened to be in Poundland and saw they had a pack of 2 rubber door stops, a bit like these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pack-Black-R.../dp/B0024QRFOM I placed these upside down under the control and now the screen is clear and easy to read. As they are rubber the 'stick' to both the underside of the controller and the desk. Superb solution for £1. Hope it helps someone else.

Re: Avid/MC Control v1 viewing angle
I've had myself cut 2 pieces of wood (1 inch thick each - 2 inch raise) and placed them under the optional legs, only at the back. It gives it quite a nice angle.
