Default New laptop mobile recording and mixing

I’ve just bought a new laptop to run Pro Tools. To allow me greater freedom and flexibility.

My main interface is an Audient ID 22 and I connect an Audient ASP 880 mic pre to record drums etc...

My question is can I start a new session using current hardware then mix and record and continue the same session elsewhere with a different interface ?

Cheers

You will need to setup the i/o on the second interface as they probably won't be the same settings.

yea, and the settings can also be saved and loaded, so if it is too much trouble for you in every session you can help yourself with a simple file exchange

Great, thanks

If I run into issues I’ll post my question here if that’s ok

Just been looking at a RME Babyface Pro and it seems I could use my Audient ASP 880 with the Baby face pro over ADAT to record my drums etc...

But also because its bus powered and portable use it with my laptop on the move.

This would negate the need to swap interfaces etc...

Hmmmm do you think its worth selling my Audient iD 22 and getting a Babyface pro instead?

Both for laptop and studio use?

Is the Babyface pro a step-up from the Audient iD 22?

I'm all for consolidating gear if its worth it.

I think they are more or less on par soundwise but RME might be more suitable for portable use
