Re: Pro Tools 11.0.2 HD - tempo decrease when i bounce to disk
I just tested the Bounce to QuickTime....
...added a video to the "piano C". And the result: A nice video....with the background music: "piano #G"

I did the same exercise in a session with sample rate 48kHz... Recorded a "piano C" and bounced to both WAV and MP3. When I play the bounced file in Windows Media Player - the recorded "piano C" is now almost a "piano B" (between A and B)

Re: Pro Tools 11.0.2 HD - tempo decrease when i bounce to disk
No, to create an MP3 file, there is a "different" export process. Go to your edit window. Then go to the regions area on the right hand side and select the region corresponding to the audio you want to export. (I think PT calls regions-clips now). Right click and select "Export Regions as Files". On the next screen that pops up set your parameters, MP3, 44.1, stereo Interleaved, and choose a destination directory (I use desktop, so I can easily find the new file). Click on export, and the new file should be on your desktop, ready to test in Media Player, itunes. etc. Try exporting twice, once at 44.1 and once at 48 to see if that makes any difference in the pitch.

Re: Pro Tools 11.0.2 HD - tempo decrease when i bounce to disk
Hi
Yes, I did that... In the CLIPS window....you can right click on the clip (region)... ...and "Export Clips as Files..." Then I created a mp3 of my "piano C" into the "Audio Files" folder. The same result....in Win Media it is a "piano #G". I also double-clicked the "left" and "right" clip-file....the same result in Win Media Player...

Re: Pro Tools 11.0.2 HD - tempo decrease when i bounce to disk
Well, that would seem to rule out a problem with Bounce to Disk. Did you try exporting at both 44.1 and 48 to see if the pitch was the same? How about exporting as a WAV file or Windows Media Player file. Just trying to narrow down the possibilities.

Re: Pro Tools 11.0.2 HD - tempo decrease when i bounce to disk
Thanks a lot, mjslakeridge.
I did a test in a 48 kHz session - played the "piano C". 1) Bounced to disk In Win Media Player...same result: The "piano C" played "almost a B" 2) Exported the clip as WAV and MP3 in 48 kHz In Win Media Player...same result: The "piano C" played "almost a B" Please advice I have also bounced to a QuickTime video....with same results. Conclusion: The same physical file (a clip or region) - played inside Pro Tools - plays different - compare to Windows Media Player ! Session in 44,1 kHZ - a "piano C" inside Pro Tools will be a "piano #G" in Media Player Session in 48 kHz - a "piano C" inside Pro Tools will be a "piano - between a A and B" in Media Player I also noticed now that the Pro Tools tempo is wrong !!!!! I set the Pro Tools tempo to 80 and tapped it to 100 in my Yamaha synth. I set the Pro Tools tempo to 120 and tapped it to 150 in my Yamaha synth. Hmmmm....can this be a OMNI hardware issue ? http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=285122&page=2 Best regards Mandal

Re: Pro Tools 11.0.2 HD - tempo decrease when i bounce to disk
Hmmm, it could well be an Omni hardware issue. I am not familiar with that piece of equipment so what I suggest here may not be possible. Can you disconnect the Omni and manually insert some midi notes into a session using your computer mouse? Try playing a C note over and over. Then try the export clip or bounce to disk and see how it sounds in Media Player. If it is fine then that would seem to point to a hardware issue.
Another idea: Reconnect the Omni, and play some notes with your Yamaha. On the musical scale on the instrument (or midi) track, if you play a C note does it show up as a C on the scale? Can the Omni be set as the Master Clock? If so try that (you will have to change some settings within PT). It sounds as though the tempo change is causing the drop in pitch. This is turning out to be a difficult issue. You may have to wait until after Christmas until some of the more experienced forum members are back on line to get some better advice. I am just throwing out guesses.

That's good news. An identified problem, however irritating, is better than a mysterious problem.
