Default Can\'t Get PT to recognize Waves

Just upgraded to PTMP 7.1. Installed Waves 4.0 (Yes, I know it's not supported and may crash me). The installer creates all the files and dumps them in my program file, but none of the plug-ins appear in my pulldown menus. Do I have to move the folders somewhere?

You might have to go in and change your registry before installing waves. Then change it back. Do a search on digis site and you should find the step by step.

This is for 5.0 but it might work anyway. It's what I had to do. Can't hurt to try.

Waves 5.0 XP Installer does not work with Pro Tools 7.
The waves 5.0 Installer is not working with Pro Tools 7.0.
WORKAROUND FOR ADVANCED PRO TOOLS TECHNICIANS, read all directions first.

Before XP Waves installer is run, change the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\App Paths\ProToolsLE.exe

Within this Key, change the “Path” entry to:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Digidesign\Pro Tools\ProToolsLE.exe
Then run the Waves installer.

After Waves installs correctly, be sure to change the Registry back to whatever it was before this (most likely it was C:\Program Files\Digidesign\Pro Tools\)

If you are doing this with PT TDM, the process is the same except “ProToolsLE.exe” will be “ProTools.exe”.

Obviously it's going to be different from "ProToolsLE" if you're using MP so you'll have to change that too. I'm not positive about the name of the exe, I'm not on my computer right now.
