Problem with Fast Track USB and Pro Tools

Why when i try to record something with my bass guitar connected to the Fast Track (in the instrument input) the recording is being done only in the right headphone and not in the left headphone? I can see that problem also on the Pro Tools display.
When I try to record somthing with the mic input happened the same thing but the recording is done only in the left headphone.
May someone help me?

You should record on mono tracks - not stereo tracks.

Ok you were right. I tried to do the Recording Tutorial inside Pro Tools, I followed all the steps but when I tried to record (in Mono tracks) nothing was recorded.
I tried to record in Mono tracks also with Audacity but I had the same problem.. it was just like I didn't play nothing on my instrument.

Maybe do I err something with the connection between instrument - pc?

I connect the instrument to the amplifier with a jack cable, then I connect the Line Out of the amplifier to the Instrument Input of the Fast Track with another jack cable. The Fast Track is connected via USB to the pc.

This is my situation, can you help me? Thanks a lot.

I think I solved the problem. I only increase the volume!
I will let you know if the problem is not really solved!
