Unhappy Pro Tools blue screens on hibernate/sleep

Pro Tools 10.3.2 can't handle going into hibernate/sleep mode on Windows 7 x64

Upon entering hibernate/sleep, Windows blue screens with an exception in the power management.

This happens when I try to go into sleep/hibernate with Pro Tools running (with or without an active session). Sleep/hibernate has no problem entering or recovering, when Pro Tools is not running.

This is a dedicated Pro Tools machine - no other non-music software. No web browsing. It is optimized for Pro Tools.

All Windows updates are current as of 11/7/2012.

Pro Tools: 10.3.2
Audio is: Motu 828mk3 with current drivers as of 11/7/2012

One of the optimisations Avid recommends is to make sure your computer has sleep turned of

Well, in this day and age of suffocating electric costs, maybe they should write their software to withstand sleep mode. It's not like every piece of software that uses kernel drivers can't sleep.

If power is a concern, shut it off instead of letting it sleep. Your interface, speakers, and etc are still on anyway.

I have seen different cases where the crash will occur when your monitor shuts off and other times when your hard drive spins back up. Shut off your hard drive hibernation and just let your monitor shut down. Might have driver conflicts there.

No it's Pro Tools. I ran a test.

- Rebooted Windows 7
- Launched NI Massive in standalone mode (no other apps are running)
- Played some patches to make sure midi was working and motu was working
- Put Windows into hibernate/sleep
(no blue screen
- Recovered Windows from sleep and logged back in
(no blue screen
- Played the still open Massive some more

So both the Motu and midi drivers are being utilized during both hibernate and recovery and no blue screen

Only Pro Tools causes a blue screen
