11 Rack Success

Just had time to hook up my 11R with ERXP after much reading and suggestions here - turned it on and voila - success. Hooked it up as my interface replacing my MBox 2 Pro. As suggested here went to this link and uploaded newest driver for my system and it worked immediately with PT 8. I loaded nothing from the disc that came in the box.

Question is - am I missing anything that is offered with the ERXP by using PT8? I plan on upgrading to Lion so I can move to PT10 but as of now everything is working fine and will probably stay that way for a few weeks.

While 8.0 will 'probably' work. You should be on 8.0.5 since you have the ERXP.

A: As a last resort, yes, but they are not tested, qualified, supported or recommended—there are important additions to Pro Tools which are only available in the latest dot-releases and which are required by ERXP for best performance.

Pro Tools LE 8.0.5, Pro Tools HD 8.1.1 and Pro Tools 9.0.2/9.0.2 HD—all available as free updates for registered Pro Tools users— are the only fully tested and qualified systems for ERXP. Installing ERXP on earlier versions may cause mismatches between the hardware and the Guitar Window. If that occurs, the hardware display is ‘right’...but please do update to avoid this!

You are not missing anything by using PT8, or 9 or 10, its all the same in relation to the ERXP.

Pro Tools 8.0.5 Downloads and Details

You may have to run the FIRST section of the ERXP after installing 8.0.5 to get the UI files into Pro Tools.

Thanks Benoni - Looks like my Leopard will accept 8.05 according to the page you sent me with the updates. Will do.

Another Question. Looks like when I register the 11R that I will be given the opportunity to move to PT 9 and then a free update to 10. I should be able to let the sit in my dock until I move to Lion eventually - correct?
