What's the meter which goes from top to down?

Hi there,
When I see my mixer mixing, somtimes I see there're meters that goes from top to down, what're those meters?

And sometimes I see in the sends of tracks, there're knobs... How to get those out?

Gain reduction meters.

Disable them in Preferences. Actually, I think you can right click on the meter and disable it that way too.

What do those mean?

They're telling you how much your signal is being compressed/expanded by a compressor, limiter, expander, or gate plugin on that track so you don't have to open the plugin to see how much work they are performing on the dynamics of the signal.

It will also tell you the combined effect of all those types of plugins if you have more than one on that track.

Gain reduction metering is standard in compressors/limiters/expanders/gates in hardware.
