Default controlling multiple plugins at once by grouping

I recently saw mention of this feature, and was curious how to go about doing this. Any insight would be much appreciated. Would be awesome for equing overheads, instead of doing one channel then copying. I would love to be able to hear both being equed at the same time!
thanks

Hi,

Create a group, then go to groups/ modify groups / globals and tick the box in the left column for the insert you want to group, you can select controls and bypass. If you only want to group the first insert, tick the box for "a" and so on.

One solution that's almost that simple is to add and edit the plugin on one of the tracks. Then, once you have it dialed, Alt-Click and drag to the other tracks that need the same treatment(I do this all the time with comp and EQ for BGV tracks).

Apparently that function is hd or cptk only.

the copy paste trick is okay, but hard to mix when your not hearing the changes in realtime.

oh well, back to using an extra aux input for overheads.

thanks guys.

Aren't you mixing the overheads on a stereo audio track to begin with? I'm just curious why you would need to copy and paste plug-in settings between the left and right channels of the overheads...

yes, track the two mono files onto a stereo track--save yourself major hassle.

EDIT: Sorry I meant "drag" the two mono files....

This has me wondering about setting up a Slate VCC style template where you control a bunch of tracks at once, with the controls on, say, the McDSP AC1, or the Waves Kramer Tape. Instant HEAT! The McDSP AC2 would be great for this, providing the DSP wouldn't be too big. At least I think the AC1 is pretty light.
