Question Firewire 400 PT8 NEW MBP vs June 09 MB vs Old MBP

I was looking for a MBP (with Firewire 800 unfortunatly).
I Have a M-Audio ProFire 610 (with Firewire 400).
Am I making a mistake assuming that an adapter will do?
Does it worth buying a MBP or I could go with the new June 09 Macbook (with Firewire 400)?
The new June 09 Macbook will only support 4GB and this is my main concern, am I right to pick a MBP for an additionnal 4GB?
Should I consider an Old MBP? They are expensive...
Finally is there anything else to consider?

Thanks

I would go with the macbook pro model for the bump in processing power. A firewire 800 to 400 cable should do the trick, the bus is still backwards compatible with 400 speeds. I use the Belkin cable with my macbook pro and my firewire 410 with no problems.

8 GB of RAM will cost a small fortune ($700) for the macbook pros because there are only 2 slots, so they both have to be 4GB sticks. I think that 4GB total should be fine and these are relatively cheap ($70).

Plus it is nice to have some of the other perks of the macbook pro: SD slot, backlit keyboard, etc.

Still it's funny how RAM is cheap on ncix.com.
I agree for the perks, only...

Consideration 1:
MB has 1066MHz bus which, I assume, accepts DDR3 1066MHz RAM, not quite sure tho. It comes with DDR2 800MHz.
MBP has DDR3 1066MHz for sure.
I will upgrade in both cases to minimum 4GB,
I might end up with 800MHz or 1066MHz,
I won't be able to go up to 8GB with MB.

Consideration 2:
2.13GHz vs 2.26GHz? This ain't much a boost here... Unless I pay the big price...

Consideration 3:
Both 13"

Consideration 4:
Build in fw400 on MB, no extra adapter needed plus stability guaranteed...

I'm comparing Both 13" MB and MBP

Now is 250$ worth
-Up to 8GB 1066MHz RAM
-2.26GHz CPU (vs 2.13GHz)
-MBP features
-A Firewire adapter, maybe problems?

Consideration 1: Huge difference to me, the 1066 front side with DDR3 RAM is FAST. MBP all the way

Consideration 2: Every little bit helps.

Consideration 3: No difference

Consideration 4: It is a $30 cable, and I have never had a problem with it. I have 2 friends with new MBP, using M-Audio and Digi interfaces this way, no issues as long as you keep the whole chain at 400 speeds (chained drives).

I'd go MBP without a second thought. $200 gets you faster front side and RAM, expandable RAM to 8GB, Faster processor, backlit keyboard, SD slot, and nice Aluminum case. My opinion :)

Yes Indeed, way to go, thanks. I've been lucky to meet a friend of mine on my way to Apple Store lol, he's a Mac and Music Freak ;p.

Oh yeah, plus Student rebate and free IPOD Touch hehe .
