Default rebooting after a PT crash

I'm running PT 12, Win 7 Pro 64X.

I see a lot of posts on sites like Pro Tools Expert about bug fixes versus new features.

The most annoying thing I've come across is that when PT crashes the user must reboot. Is there a workaround for this? Or is it just the way it is?

Default Re: rebooting after a PT crash

Hi this is not necessary to be like that .
I had in the past some crashes on win side and no reboot most of the time . The only times i saw a crash with a reboot was related with an IRQ conflit and FW ( hardware drivers ) related . First we have to find out why PT is crashing . Do you have another post here with the problem ? If not start telling us about it and post your system specs too .

p.s. If you are talking merely about one doing a reboot after the PT crash , well depends but you can easily go to win services and restart the PT dependant services and thats it .

I'll post the specifics the next time this happens. What I usually see after a PT crash is that I see an error that PT cannot be found. I'm on the road so I can't provide the exact wording.

Glad to know that I can restart in Windows services though.

Thanks.
