Default How To Delete Errant Data From Timeline

This has come up many times in the past, so I'll apologize for asking a previously answered question:

Option A fits to entire session timeline into the Edit window. When there are unintended data entries very late in the timeline, well past the "song endpoint" Option A zooms way out, fitting that unwanted data into the edit window.

How does one locate and delete those unwanted nodes? Things I've tried with no success:

1) Make sure no tracks are hidden
2) Group All
3) Make timeline selection from true song end to waay late in the timeline, delete
4) Cycle through different track views; Waveform, Volume, Trims, Pans etc - delete
5) Make timeline selection > Delete Automation Data
6) Event > Cut Time

None of these are working. I don't recall this being so difficult in the past.

Many thanks,

John Caldwell

Make your selection in the timeline ruler at the top and you don't have to group anything. Control-delete delete's everything

Thank you, Rich. So long as Tempo is not included among the Edit window timeline displays, Option A produces the expected result, meaning the window reveals only the duration of the 4 minute song in question.

If Tempo is displayed, I now notice after following your suggestion, Option A zooms out to a 60 mount time window. It's as if there is a tempo change inserted at 60 minutes, while no such tempo point exists other than at timeline zero.

Dragging in the ruler, with or without all fields being shown, doesn't change this behavior. I wonder if the session is corrupt somehow.

I'm grateful to learn the Ruler Timeline Control-Delete from you in any case, Rich.

Many thanks,

John-
