Default import audio is greyed out on the file menu

does anyone know hot to activate the import audio selection on the file menu. When is select file it shows the import audio to track as greyed out and it cannot be selected.

Are your tracks filled up? (it does that if they are)...if so, now's the time to decide what you can do without and delete, or you can move some similar audio from 2 tracks to one, then delete the blank one to free up a track.
If that's not the case, I'm not sure what it could be.

Roy u hit it right on the head. It looks like pro-tools wants to create the tracks itself and won't use tracks that already exsist. Thanks

... or just use Import Audio in the region list menu (Ctrl+Shift+I).
