What do you like for slap back delay?

Hey guys what do yo like for slap back delays for vocals? Sort of the 50's rockabilly/Brian Setzer kind of sound?

Recommendations for plugins and starting settings?

Tel-Ray Variable Delay is included in the Complete Plug-In Bundle, and has a few presets to get you started. Let us know if that doesn't cut it...

Thanks Jeffro, I think the Tel Ray delay will work. It'll be a few weeks before I get back to this client, since he's in Estonia for the summer.

I'll have to check out the Echo Boy.

Yesterday I discovered that the STEED system on the new Waves chambers makes a great slap back. I have a slapback send in my template that uses the BBD delay from Avid.

Plus one for the Soundtoys EchoBoy delay. Pretty damn awesome for all sorts of delays including the requested slap back delay. We use the Echoplex setting with some warble setting included in it. Warble and time to taste.

All of the above really. Also Softube Tube Delay, has useful Bass/Treble and Drive controls. ($49,-!) I also get great 'classic' slaps from Valhalla Freq Echo. (Free!)

I love how a nice slap can work magic on almost any vocal in any style of (popular) music. Mostly mono or 'tucked in' stereo, quite dirty and more often than not not synced to the song tempo. I generally favour the 120ms to 160ms range.
