Before paying, double check that your dates are what you claim it to be. Once support realises there is mistake on Avid's part, they should refund you. Point being you are entitled to use ANY version released before your support and update plan expired.

Are you sure you have installed 12.6 and not 12.6.1 which came out later?

12.6 release date is indeed Sep 28, 2016
