Default Corrupt Sound File.

Hello, all in Digiland. Here's a email I received from one of my engineers last night.

"During our recording session tonight we had a serious problem with the recording computer. The last take we recorded with our actor looks normal in the track display, but when it is played or scrubbed it sounds like deafeningly loud clipped samples. Our actor was hurt when I played it back through the headphones.
*
After rebooting I tried recording some more audio and everything seems to be working just fine. The problem file still looks fine but sounds horrible. The clipping is visible when zoomed in close but vanishes when zoomed out a step."

The system is a 1.25G4 OS 9.2.2 Pro Tools 5.1.3 and we are doing 1 track ADR recording with Gallery's ADR software.

This exact problem happened 3 months ago, so it is very random. This is only the second time it has happened.
But if possible I'd rather keep it from happening again.

Any advice is appriciated.
Thanks in advance,
Evan.

What's the file size?

Normally for large files I'd use DigiDelivery or YouSendIt

Use YouSendIt -- my email address is in my profile.

Earthlink has a 10 meg email limit.

Rail, what did you do to restore the file? And do you have any suggestions for keeping this from happening in the first place? That's the biggest deal, as I'm putting my tallent's ears at risk.

Thanks in advance,
Evan.
