Default Unable to get Ilok to work

I have several apps that I have on my computer that I was looking forward to trying out and one of them is Pro Tools First, probably will never be my main DAW but thought it might be worth learning since it is such an industry standard. Finally get it downloaded and installed but ran into a snag with that damn Ilok. Keep getting error message telling me the server is unavailable. I tried rebooting, reinstalling and re-inputing my user name and password to no avail. I remember once having problems with ilok years ago and finally gave up on that monster swearing never to use a product that uses it.

Anyway here I am trying to get it to work in 2015 and those memories of years past come rushing back. Damn this Ilok damn it to hell. I am not giving up yet, this time I am asking for help, anybody know how to get this thing to work and I can get Pro Tools First activated?

"...server is unavailable."

Sounds like your network, antivirus or firewall is blocking communication.

Save time and start by just turning every last thing off in one big go, and see if that works, if so then you can try allowing it in whatever firewall etc. you are running.

Well Darryl that seemed to work and once the firewall was turned back on I can still open Pro tools. Thanks for the help.
