Default MS Surface Pro 2

Hi!
Has anybody been trying MS Surface Pro 2 or similar with Pro Tools 11. I know it is not supported but it's just for on the go easy editing, tracking, config, preparation, play around.

I don’t want an ordinary laptop since it’s not as portable as the Surface and the Surface would make it possible to control my soundcard (RME UFX) with the touch screen. For mixing, serious tracking and other work I have a top spec stationary computer.

However the Surface Pro 2 just has one USB-port (USB3) so I will need a good USB3 hub to make it possible (and that seems hard enough). I would need to connect a soundcard, an external hard drive, an Ilok and a midi-keyboard.

Thoughts?

Regards
Johan

By the specs, Pro Tools should work. With the exception of Windows 8.1:
Note: Window 8.1 is not supported at this time. Avid will announce official support here when testing is completed. I think others have had success with it though.

I'm not sure if Pro Tools does any checks on the form factor of the "computer" it is running on, so I cant see why it wouldn't work, but no guarantees.

Surface Pro 2 Technical Specifications

Not much of an answer. :)

Thanks for the replay.
Do I get it right if I can store the ILok-licenses on the hard drive so I don't need to use the USB for the ILok key?

No, the iLok key is required.
