Default Audient iD22

Hey!

Looking for a new interface to go with my Win7, x64 rigg
with Pro Tools 11. Maybe trying to downgrade from high
end RME since my recording needs changed.

Been reading good stuff about the Audient iD22 and it
would fit my needs pretty good. But im hesitating since
im not shure how it works with win and PT. And also
wondering how the latency would be on a project with
say about 20-25 tracks. Mostryl recorded instr. and not
so muck VST:s

Thanks

The new MOTU stuff looks compelling. Also the new Focustite Red units as well.

Voluntarily downgrade from RME? Nonsense. Babyface is only $100 more than the iD22.

There's another user here who has an iD22, and was having problems with switching sample rates. http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=360228

I just got one of these on loan form Audient UK to try out. I compared it with the AVID MBox Pro 3 and a MOTU UltraLite MKIII Hybrid. It was marginally, but noticeably, better at resolving the attack, particularly on acoustic guitar. I was, however, very impressed with the detail in reverb tails, especially on piano. I liked it loads and I'm gonna get one.

I am aware of that this one will be +$300.- (from the Audient) but it΄s 2-3 classes higher than the Audient as for audio quality (preamps and converters),
low latency (super fast, real USB 3) and great options (UAD high end plugins for mixing and for recording with 0 latency by 2 high end DSP processors).

It really offers studio grade quality while being very compact and easy to handle via a convenient hardware design (desktop design with big Controller Knob
for Volume and more as well as other cool stuff). It΄s brand new and made for Windows only but uses the same studio preamp+converters like the famous
Thunderbolt Apollo models.

To sum it up-it definitely is worth the money.
