Default Buy PT10 now - what about PT11?

So i'm thinking of getting PT10 now, assuming PT11 comes out later this year, does anyone know if I'll get upgraded to 11 for free? I don't really want to wait until 11 comes out, keep to get going

If a new version of Protools comes out, the window is usually about 3 weeks, or maybe a month, for people who bought the previous version to get a free upgrade.

So unless PT11 comes out about 3 weeks from now, then you won't get it for free.

Having said that, the NAB conference is coming up, and so is Musikmesse, so I would wait until those trade shows happen, because that could be a time when Avid decides to announce something.

Here's another question:

I'm on 6.4 TDM Mix. I have a few plugins on ilok. Focusrite D2/D3, Reverb One, Autotune. Will any of these run on PT 10 or will I have to buy new licences? And what happens when RTAS dies with PT11?

I guess, someone's going to come up with an RTAS to AAX wrapper - possibly Avid themselves.
It would keep a lot of people from buying PT11, if they'd have to leave some of their favorite plugins behind.

Focusrite and Reverb 1 ilok assets from that era are still current. Not sure about Autotune, but my guess is that you'll need to upgrade it.

Cool, that's not too bad. With regards, Autotune, I purchased this off ebay so I'm not registered. Does that mean no upgrade policy, have to buy new?

probably, you need to check with them
or you might find a deal used again
I've also seen it as a 1 day deal a few times
