Default buying a new pc

Is there a support function on the digidesign site where i can enter my requirements and get a list of currently available pcs?

No but you can do some light reading here:

Better to get all the recommended hardware and build your own than futz with an off-the-shelf unit anyway, unless you go the DAW-specific route, like is offered by Sweetwater.

I think the Sweetwater way may be the win. That way, you know that you have compatible hardware, and a support system that is always on call. I didn't do this and have spent more than the savings fixing problems. Figuring out what components are compatible is a ridiculously long process for a hobbiest. It is nearly impossible. Digi should have a very easy to decipher page with approved components, right in the top of this forum.
