Default 7.4 forum?

What's the appropriate forum for Pro Tools LE 7.4 (XT)?

Choose your platform(Mac or Windows) in the Legacy section is likely the best place to start. But be aware that you are using a very outdated setup and will get answers based on folk's memory of using LE in the distant past. At some point, you should consider updating your setup, especially if your computer is connected to the internet(security is a serious problem). XP has no support at all, and Windows 7 is barely hanging on. Plus, you have no idea how many great features you are missing

7.4 was one of the best releases of PT ever! May it live long! Enjoy.

Gotta go back to work on 2020.12...

I just resurrected a G5 on Tiger with an Mbox2 and 7.4LE with the music production toolkit. Works a treat.

Albee makes a good point.

I also have fond memories of 7.3-7.4.
It's not like an old guitar though,....
2020 is better in every way, and you have more choices.

(Holt Crap! I just responded in two threads defending modern ProTools...
I have been absorbed!!!....)

I don't.

That is because as Mac user it was in the middle of PPC/Intel transition. I remember 7.2 (PPC) was very stable, but 7.3 (Universal Binary) had plenty of random bugs and it took until 7.4.2 (Intel/Leopard) to get it stable again. Then was the GUI change and most stable combination ever (8.1.1 & 10.6.8) maybe because Snow Leopard was Intel only.

Similar trouble can be expected once PT is Intel/M1 -- all the way until Intel is dropped and PT is Apple Silicon only.

EDIT: was in beta team during PT 7-10 so that explains why feel that way
