Internet Explorer 8: DigiDesign, how long does it take?

& that much is known & understandable pretty much... ERGO, IE7 will stay as is & FireFox or whatever else will be what would be used...

thatz like sayin, Dammmmz, I can't even watch ondemand; I have HD & a DVR, but I can't watch ondemand, ohhh, but I do have DirectTv...

No need complaining on something that is easily replaceable & just as good or better... Just get comcast & now u can watch ondemand...

Point, use Firefox/Chrome etc. & use PT...

I have had zero problems loading sp3 from a thumb drive. I do have IE7 loaded but have yet to instantiate it. My only point is "what does IE8 do to help one record, playback or mix?"

Helps the computer so one can record, playback and mix. Though currently this shouldn't be a problem since MS/Win Update supports IE7 however IE8 is part of the SP3 Installer including IE8 updates.

But you can opt to DECLINE IE8 when you install sp3 (and should). And help me out here, how does a browser help the computer to record, playback and mix??????

When I did the SP3 update, I chose manuel,, (you know,,,, the guy that lives down the street??) And unchecked IE8. Since then,, many updates, but always for IE7!! No more worries about IE8!!

Well, for me it's just convenient. Like "Could you look up these lyrics?" or "I want it sort of like this song on YouTube" or sending/receiving mp3's. Plus, I do various other jobs for clients like registering copyrights and uploading music to various sites. I've never bothered disabling the network card on my system and it's (luckily) working fine. But as far as this thread goes, I could care less about IE8 as Firefox works fine for me.

I guess I have 3 too many computers then...1 of those 3 is where I do all my extras... When I bounce a file that needs to be emailed, the Flash drive is always sittin in the phace!!! But then again, maybe I need IR8 too so my recording & mixes can be better & maybe that can lead to some more charting records

It's not the browser it is the content that the browser supplies. Microsoft and Windows Update only run MSIE. Pro Tools and OS Security Updates and the rest are tied, like Digidesign and PACE.

Keybeeetsss you are a master of sarcasm! I actually have other computers I could use the internet on, but since I have no issues (yet) with networking and PT on the same pc, and I have a solid backup plan - I'll stick with what works. To each his/her own!
