strange video behavior...
Importing Video to session..
When I import the video, everything is fine for the first 40 minutes, then at that point starts playing the first part of another .mov file., (it is playing from the fist half of the show, instead of the last part of the second half). although audio is correct. I first thought it was a problem with the conversion, but when I play the imported second half on QT, it is fine. All imported audio is fine... playing the whole second half as it should. SO... for some reason PT is referencing a different video part way through the session. Cleansed prefs, reimported, I would imagine that it is a "unique identifier issue", but I have never seen this before. Any thoughts. PT 8.0.1cs2 G5 2.7 weird... SB AND.. the thumbnails on the edit screen are showing the correct footage???? |

Re: strange video behavior...
Is it a single video file on a single video track? Can you identify the file it is erroneously playing, and what happens if you move that file to a different folder?
(Not that I have any answers.)

Re: strange video behavior...
OK.. deleted from the computer the incorrectly referenced file, then closed the session and reopened, and all is as it should be. \
I would still like to know what causes this, if anyone has any experience with this anomaly.. |

Re: strange video behavior...
I've seen this with H264 files occassionally for the past 3 years. Several people have reported similar issues here. The quickest fix is to put a single edit in the movie track at a point a minute or two ahead of where the video is wrong. Don't actually move anything, just split the movie into two video regions.
