Default Digi PRE (Blue) no longer talking to ProTools

Running PT Ultimate, 2018.7, see other specs below.

Somewhere between 2018.4 and .7, my trusty Digi PRE stopped playing nice with ProTools. It's partially there: it appears in the I/O window, the Mic Preamps window, has a positive connection in the Audio/Midi OS app, but Mic Preamps doesn't populate in a track when selecting a PRE input path. Nothing about my config, either physical or software has changed. I swapped out the USB/Midi interface, no difference. PT Ultimate upgrades appear to be the only variable.

AVID indicates that this box is no longer supported, but so are a number of other peripherals that still work and require a heftier set of specs than MIDI. I'd like to believe that AVID wouldn't deliberately tank the MIDI integration with the older PREs...but given the radio silence from them on my trouble ticket, I'm wondering.

Anyone else seeing this?

Not fair.
Avid please assign support updating midi changes. Or publish the How To's of it.

Anyway. Try a backup then advance to MacOs 10.13.6 since your already in 13.

Trash the usual plus audio/midi prefs
New session with new default I/O. Re-setup the MIDI Peripherals n such.

Sorry if this seems like a silly question. Just trying to help...

In the I/O setup, on the Mic Preamps Tab, have you selected which 8 inputs the Pre will show up on?

Yes, absolutely. But thanks because it's often those little things, right?

All kinds of red flags on AVID site about no compatibility beyond 10.13.3. I'll try the rest of what you suggest and let you know. Thanks.

That shouldn't be happening. The PRE MIDI protocol is used by other vendors, and still works, like in my HAPI for example, and for shure it should be working on Avid's own hardware.
