Default Mojo SD and new non-FW400 macs -- solutions?

Currently have an Avid Mojo SD with FW400 -- plugs into the stock FW400 port on my 2008 MacPro. Also have FW PCI card which gives me a discreet FW bus from which to run FW drives while using the Mojo (As you may remember, Mojo doesn't play nicely if there's anything else on its FW bus).
Looking to get a new machine and the new machines don't have any FW400 connections at all. So, does anyone have a workaround/solution?
Can I expect the current FW400 PCI card I have to work in a new Mac Pro and run the Mojo off of that? Should I get a FW800->400 adapter and just give up the hope of using any other FW peripheral while the Mojo is in use? Is there a current FW400 PCI card that I should buy that would support the Mojo in the new Mac Pro?
Appreciate any help/experience. . . .

The main principle did not change, Avid Mojo still needs the full bandwith of the internal FW bus, so connect it with a FW800-FW400 adapter to one the FW 800 ports on the Mac Pro.

If you want to connect additional FW 400 drives, use a FW 400 PCIe card. If you want to connect additional FW 800 drives, use a FW 800 PCIe card. Sonnet makes both type of PCIe cards and they are OK

Do you know if the Mojo will work on a FW 400 PCI card so I can keep the stock internal bus for FW 800 drives? Essentially flipping around the solution you suggested.

I suppose it will not work, because Avid Mojo really needs the full bandwith of the internal FW bus. Actually the internal FW 800 bus has the same bandwith as an internal FW 400 bus, it is just faster. But for some reason the bandwith of a FW PCI (PCIe) card is smaller then internal FW bus

In the past I tried a FW 400 PCI card in a G5 with Avid Mojo and it did not work, but for the record I never actually tried a FW 400 (nor FW 800) PCIe card in my Mac Pro Westmere with Avid Mojo. That's because I have 4 internal 1 GB SATA drives and I do not need FW 800 drives for Pro Tools HD. I use my FW 800 drives only for back-up, I just turn them on when I need them. They share the internal FW 800 bus together with Avid Mojo.

I think the solution is for you is simple: if you need your FW 800 drives simultaneously with Avid Mojo, then just buy a FW 800 PCIe card for your drives, it will cost you 99.95 USD (see here). If you do not need your FW 800 drives simultaneously with the Avid Mojo, then do as I do and share the internal FW 800 bus for both your drives and Avid Mojo but never use them simultaneously.

Thanks for all the info. Much appreciated.
