SIMPLE Q' RE: Rec/bussing a stereo signal to mono.

Hi people,i have just a quick and i'm sure simple question.

when i'm jamming on pro tools with say.... reaktor on a stereo aux track and i get the sound of hi hat that i like and want to rec that as audio onto another track.... am i losing any quailty when i bus the aux send out mono into a mono audio track?

what would you suggest?

You shouldn't lose any quality but you should experiment to see if collapsing the stereo sound to mono screws it up due to any ambience in the stereo track. If it does sound "worse"(a subjective term for sure), it may just be a matter of adding a bit of ambience back with a verb plugin.

THanks... will keep that in mind, there doesn't appear to be any loss of quality when i've done this with hihats for example.
