Default Problems with XLR Sockets Stage16

Hi!
I have problems get the XLR plugs out of the stage16 once they were plugged.
I have to pull really hard to get them back out - it seems like the locking is not working well any more - on all sockets - it was from the beginning - but now i broke one lock cause i have to remove 1 cable with too much power cause it was stuck in there.
By the way - i use Cables with Neutrick Connectors.
Did anybody else have troubles here?

Stuck XLR connectors seem to be a very common problem lately with a variety of mixers. And it always seems to be the Neutrik connectors. I REALLY like the Neutrik connectors but they do seem to get stuck more then the Switchcraft connectors. Neutrik should make some shells without the groove for the latch to catch it. As long as there is no stress on the connector you don’t really need the latch. I know they make the female panel mount connectors without latches but this would be a way to workaround the problem with existing mixers. At least you can unscrew the shell and get most of you cable out without having to cut the cable.

The XLR jacks on my Stage 16 are a bit finicky as well, but I found a trick that works (for my unit).

While holding the latch release, push the cable deeper into the connector. This seems to fully disengage the latch (you'll feel it release), then the cable can be removed as expected.

While this isn't a big deal for me, I could see it being an issue if the board is being used for rentals, or by multiple engineers.

+1. This is exactly what I often need to remind myself to do

Those panel-mount XLR connectors can be replaced, but plan on a few hours to take things apart, replace and then re-assemble. Anyone with decent soldering skills and a good iron(not that old Weller gun with the coat hanger tip) should be fine

If the box is under warranty then I would not run soldering it myself. I would contact Avid Venue Support first (NB! New phone number for US) to see if it would void the warranty if you replace the connector yourself, or not.
