Default Waveforms not showing up from 'import data' until session re-start

Hi, The waveforms (the visual display of waveforms in the regions) of imported tracks are not showing up. The imported tracks show blank regions with no waveforms, but the sound is there. This started happening recently and may be related to importing data from PT 12 (I am in PT 11.3) other than that there has been no change to my system. The work around to force the waveforms to show is to:import data, save session, close session and re-open session. This fixes the waveforms as they all re-appear correclty.

I am in the middle of a busy production and I don't want to trash preferences for the time being (I'd rather so close and re-open the session for now), but if it can be fixed without trashing prefs that would be great. Any hints?

Trashing all the files in Users/Shared/Pro Tools/ usually clears up audio file weirdness for me. Doing that won't affect your prefs, and unless you're a heavy Workspace user, it won't slow you down.

Whilst it won't fix the root of the problem, you can use the 'recalculate waveform option' from the clip list menu.
