Default Where can i download core-audio drivers ?

Sorry for ze n00bie sounding post !

I've just fired up Logic 9.1 on my Macbook pro, which has PTLE 8.01 installed (running under 10.6.2)

Anyhoo, I've just plugged my (original) mBox in to do some tracking in logic, & I don't seem to have my core audio drivers installed.

I don't remember doing anything other than a regular install of LE, which i thought automatically installed the Core Audio drivers?

Anyhoo, can any kind soul point me to where i can download the appropriate drivers? I've been searching the Avid-design site to no avail !

Thanks !

Yep, i've been poking around the support section. I still can't find it. I've searched for 'Core audio' 'Core audio driver osx' etc. Still no joy.

I'm just being thick i'm sure, but it's not jumping out at me.

Featured Downloads:
www.digidesign.com/downloads

Digidesign Audio Drivers >
Standalone Digidesign CoreAudio Drivers for Mac OS X >
Standalone Digidesign CoreAudio Drivers v8.0.3 for Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard & 10.5 Leopard

(search for CoreAudio rather than Core Audio should also find it)

I wouldn't recommend installing the Standalone version 8.0.3 digi drivers with PTLE 8.0.1 still on your system.

If you install the free update to Pro Tools LE 8.0.3, you would get the Snow Leopard compatible version of the CoreAudio driver for Snow Leopard rather than the standalone installer. As it says on the standalone driver download pages, the standalone CoreAudio driver installer is just that: a standalone installer for users that do not have Pro Tools installed.

My 8.0.1 stand alone drivers worked with reason and logic...However, the stand alone drivers are stuffed in 8.0.3. Don't upgrade as i did !

I think this is only the case of you have PT installed, as the core audio driver is in the update.

I upgraded, before i did so i read all the bumf. At no point did it say

'Once you install this Pro Tools upgrade, you'll find that you can't use any 3rd party audio apps.' So, the upshot... I can't use any stand alone apps, but rest assured that Digi are looking into a fix, which is great, but what happened to R+D!?

Isn't this kind of thing meant to be ironed out before you release it?
It's not like it's a tiny bug in PT somewhere that doesn't allow you to do a very specific thing whilst in a particular view. It's fundamental stuff.

Does Digi not test 3rd party programs at all. I'm not suggesting supporting a product you don't make, all it takes is to have the usual suspects installed on a PT testbed, you then test if they boot or not.

It's not as if it didn't work in the last version, it did? Oh actually it didn't..There were massive core audio issues a few versions back, and still it's not really fixed. I have to reboot my machine a couple of times before it recognises core audio in iTunes. What did you do to it to break it so royally and why does always this always happen.

Bring back version 6, that worked
